Second man charged with driving offences after pedestrian’s death in Leeds

A MAN is due to appear in court charged with driving offences following a police investigation into the death of a 25-year-old pedestrian on Stanningley bypass in Leeds.

Kaiz Mahmood, 28, of Hinchcliffe Street, Bradford, has been charged with dangerous driving and driving without insurance as part of the investigation into the death of James Gilbey, 25.

British Gas worker Mr Gilbey died after he was struck by a Volkswagen Golf on Stanningley bypass near his home in Bramley just before midnight on Monday, July 13.

Mahmood is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court on Wednesday, October 21.

Majid Malik, 27, of Silverhill Avenue, Bradford, has previously been charged with causing death by dangerous driving in relation to the incident.

Seven other men who were arrested as part of the investigation have been released from their bail.
