It might have been the warmest Halloween on record this year but this picture suggests autumn is finally catching up with us and winter might well be settling in.

Accompanied only by early morning dog walkers, Andrew McCaren snapped the picture yesterday (Nov 4) at Temple Newsam in Leeds.

He said: “It really was a beautiful morning. One of those days where it is cold on your fingers and the frost on the ground is seeping through your boots, getting your feet wet. The sun was breaking through the fog and it just made for really stunning pictures.” The Temple Newsam estate is home to one of the oldest historic houses in the country.
