Scarborough Athletic chairman in hospital after Leeds crash

The chairman of a Yorkshire football team is in hospital after he was taken ill at the wheel of a car which hit a parked vehicle in Bramley, Leeds.

Scarborough Athletic FC chairman, Richard Adamson, had watched his team beaten one nil by Farsley AFC and was driving when he was apparently taken poorly and struck a car parked in Stanningley Road, Bramley, Leeds.

The Scarborough Club president, John Fawcett, and a supporter Mike Price who were both passengers in the Ford Fiesta were both unhurt in the accident, though it is believed all three men were taken to hospital.

Mr Adamson's condition was later given as "stable".

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the accident to contact them, including anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the Fiesta in the moments leading up to it.
