COUNCIL Chiefs in Wakefield want residents to have their say over proposals to cut opening hours at Sandal Castle visitor centre.
The council, which is set to slash its 2015/16 budget by £38m, had planned to close the visitor centre.
New proposals limit the seasonal opening times at the centre. It would open from 12pm to 4pm over 14 weekends between June and August. The Council is hosting two public consultations at the castle from 2.30pm to 7.30pm on Thursday February 12 and from 1pm to 3pm on Saturday 28.
Coun Les Shaw said: “we believe these proposals offer the best option for the visitor centre’s future.”
