Roosters and rum to your door

A chunk of chicken dressed in the '˜Bees Knees' sauce served with some monkey balls and fries doused in a chip shop curry sauce and washed down with a Rooster's Kick of a cocktail.

Sound finger lickin’ good? Well that’s exactly what the duo behind the latest food offering to come to Leeds want.

Friends Carl Morris and Laura Morris opened Yard & Coop, specialising in buttermilk fried chicken, in Manchester and Liverpool and are launching in Leeds - but without the restaurant for now.

The menu with chicken, sauces, sides, dirty fries and drinks is available via Deliveroo.

Carl said: “The opportunity arose before the site, we have been looking for that for about 12 months but want the right one in the right location.

“We wanted to get this product on the market and we can market test and see what works in the city and what doesn’t and tweak it.”

The duo wanted to open a restaurant that reflected how they like to eat out - relaxed, fun, lively - and with a signature product but the burger business was saturated.

He added: “We go to America to research products and fried chicken is premium in LA, Miami, Chicago and New York and we fell in love with it.”
