The entire roof and attic of the three storey terraced house were ablaze when fire-fighters arrived at Sefton Terrace in the Beeston area of the city.

The call came in at 4.05am today (Friday) and crews from Hunslet, Leeds, Killingbeck and Bradford attended. They used six breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a jet and a positive pressure ventilation fan.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue added that no-one was rescued and also that no smoke alarms were fitted at this address.
