POLICE have released an e-fit image of a robber who punched a woman in the face during an incident in Wakefield.
The 29-year-old woman was targeted as she walked along Back Hatfeild Street in the College Grove area of the city at around 1am on Tuesday August 11.
A man asked her for the time before grabbing her shoulder and taking her mobile phone from her.
The man punched the woman in the face when she tried to stop him taking the phone.
The woman, who fell to the floor after the assault, suffered facial injuries.
The suspect is described as a 6ft tall white man with tanned skin aged in his mid 30s. He is described as being of average build and has short, dark hair.
He was wearing a dark coloured hoody and dark bottoms.
DC Mark Hargreaves of Wakefield CID, said: “This was a serious incident in which the victim has been left with facial injuries after being followed and then assaulted by this man.
“I would like to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the efit, saw a man fitting this description in the area at the time of the offence, or has any information at all which could help us identify him.
