Roads reopened as man safe after incident on roof of Leeds city centre building

POLICE have reopened a number of roads in Leeds city centre after an incident involving a man on the roof of a building was safely resolved.

West Yorkshire Police were called to East Parade off The Headrow where a 25-year-old man was on the roof of Coverdale House earlier today.

The incident caused traffic congestion in Leeds city centre.

East Parade was closed at its junction with Infirmary Street. Greek Street and Bedford Street were also closed.

Roads were re-opened just before 1pm after police said the incident involving the man was safely resolved.
