Police have closed a road in Horsforth following an accident involving a car and motorcyclist this afternoon.

Firefighters rescued two people from the wreckage following the accident on Horsforth New Road, just north of the junction with the A657, just before 3pm.

No details have been given about the nature of the injuries or who was hurt.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that the two people who were trapped were "left in care of the ambulance service."

Fire engines from Rawdon and Stanningley attended the incident.
