So, which student properties are on the market?

However, the property isn’t as great as it sounds. Residents living here are expected to share the property with four other individuals. The lucky residents who can afford to live in this property will be paying £43,680 a year each for a bedroom in a shared student house, and will still be required to share the kitchen and living room.

To put that rental cost for this property into perspective, the tenant could choose to live in a four bedroom penthouse suite overlooking the Liverpool city centre, or a six-bedroom detached house with a personal cinema instead, with some spare change at the end of the week.

2. Studio Apartment, Liverpool - £2,340 PCM

For wealthy students who want to live on their own, this studio apartment in the centre of Liverpool could be the next best option. Costing a bargain price of just £28,080 a year (almost half of the student house), the studio apartment offers all the benefits of a student house, but with the freedom owning the whole property instead of sharing it.

Just a short two minute walk from Liverpool John Moores University Mount Pleasant Campus and the University of Liverpool, the studio apartment is in the perfect location for students. The property comes fully furnished with built-in, bespoke furniture and a modern sleek kitchen.

Danielle Cullen, Managing Director at StudentTenant.com said: "It’s fantastic for the lettings market that landlords and property developers are investing in more luxury student accommodation to appeal to students who can afford to pay higher rental costs.

Over the last couple of years, particularly on StudentTenant.com, we’ve noticed growth in luxury student properties being advertised across the UK. Investors and private landlords are seeing the potential returns they could receive if they’re appealing to wealthy students, and they want to cash in on the rising demand. We’ve seen more and more ‘premium’ student properties advertised on our site, and for student houses in particular, we’ve noticed that landlords are choosing to completely renovate their properties to reach maximum returns.

In our experience, we’ve found that there’s been a shift in what students demands are from their accommodation providers. In the past, students may have been happy to live in accommodation with poor conditions, as long as they were cheap. But now, we’re starting to see that more and more students are willing to pay a higher price in exchange for higher quality accommodation."
