Police are investigating the alleged rape of a woman in the Hyde Park area on Saturday night.

A 43-year-old local woman is being supported by West Yorkshire Police following the alleged incident, which reportedly took place close to the junction of Royal Park Road and Moorland Road between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.

Detective Inspector John Dexter, from Leeds District CID, has explained that at this time police are not linking the incident with the attempted murder and serious sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman in Beeston on Friday night.

He said: “I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area close to Royal Park Road and Moorland Road on Saturday around 8.30pm to 9.30pm and who saw anything suspicious.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote crime reference number 13150096196.
