Morley’s branch of the Royal British Legion is organising a concert to mark Remembrance Day this year.

The concert, at Morley Town Hall, is raising money in aid of the Poppy Appeal.

It will feature performances from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s band on Saturday. The band will play at the town hall, in Queen Street, from 7.30pm.

Coun Bob Gettings, who arranged the concert, said “We are asking residents to make a contribution to the excellent work the British Legion do both locally and nationally by buying tickets at £5 each with all funds going to the Royal British Legion.

“It is going to be an entertaining night with a nationally renowned band. I would encourage residents to join us and the British Legion so we can support the work they undertake.”

Last year, £38,000 was raised in Morley for the Poppy Appeal.
