Refuse worker dies after lorry accident

A refuse worker has died after being injured by a bin lorry, police said today.

Emergency services were called to the incident in Centenary Gardens, Eastry, near Sandwich, Kent, at 12.40pm yesterday.

The man, named by police as 44-year-old Adeyinka Aderoba, had suffered fatal injuries.

Officers are not treating his death as suspicious and said no- one else was involved in the incident.

The dead man's next of kin in Nigeria have been informed.

The Health and Safety Executive confirmed it had launched an investigation but could not comment further.
