He said: “Thank you to everyone who’s donated and supported me. We’ve raised a fantastic amount of money for brilliant causes and I’m just so happy I could get it done. There were so many times when I didn’t know whether I could finish, but here I am, at Elland Road. Thank you so much.”

“Global’s Make Some Noise helps small charities, such as Carers Leeds, that do amazing work to help young people living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity and we are very proud to support them.”

His run started on April 23 at Hull City’s KCOM stadium. He also stopped off at grounds in Rotherham, Sheffield, Barnsley, Huddersfield and Bradford. The host received a hero’s welcome at Elland Road from supporters and Capital Yorkshire Breakfast presenters, Adam and JoJo.

Gaynor Marshall, managing editor of Capital Yorkshire, said: “I’m unbelievably proud of Pete, what he has achieved to raise money for Global’s Make Some Noise is incredible. Sixty-five miles across Yorkshire from stadium to stadium is a massive achievement. Thanks to everyone that has supported Pete and to everyone that has donated.”

Make Some Noise is the official charity of Global, the media and entertainment group. The charity has raised more than £11m and has helped 192 charities and projects since 2014.
