Finding a pair of shoes hidden in Leeds could bag one lucky shopper £1,000 in clothes vouchers.

Online retailer Joe Browns, which is based in Holbeck, has placed a woman’s and a man’s shoe stuffed with shopping vouchers in a secret location within walking distance of the city centre.

The firm will release hourly cryptic clues on Twitter and Facebook using #quirkypair to guide shoppers on August 13 from 10am.

A company spokeswoman said: “We thought it would be fun to tell a little story about a woman’s shoe and a man’s shoe that run off together and get up to lots of different shenanigans.

“The story ends with the shoes walking off, lace in lace, into Leeds.

“Whoever can find the missing shoes first can have a new autumn/winter wardrobe on us.”
