Pupils join battle for Sam’s vital treatment

Have your say

Youngsters at an Otley primary school put pen to paper yesterday in support of a classmate as he prepares to visit Downing Street.

Sam Brown, six, is one of only 77 children in England with the life-limiting Morquio syndrome.

The pupil at The Whartons Primary School has been involved in a successful trial of a drug which it is feared could be withdrawn by NHS chiefs.

Campaigning pupils helped make banners and posters and write letters for Sam and his family to press Prime Minister David Cameron over the issue.
