BEER drinkers across Leeds are being asked to vote for the city’s new limited edition ale.

Leeds Brewery will be the biggest brewer in the city when Tetley’s closes next month and to mark the occasion they will produce an ale that is named and taste-tested by the public.

Ex-Leeds United player Richard Naylor tasted the three shortlisted beers on Tuesday.

He said: “When I was growing up, my dad would drink Tetley’s. It’s nice that this brewery is taking over and supporting local businesses is really important.”

The beers are available to try at The Brewery Tap on New Station Street, The Midnight Bell on Water Lane, PIN on Dock Street and Garden Gate on Whitfield Place, Hunslet.

The winner will be unveiled at the Goodbye Tetley’s Festival on June 10.
