Leeds resident Anne Murgatoid got in touch with the Yorkshire Evening Post to raise the alarm about power cuts in Leeds.

The outage is affecting houses in Leeds and Bradford Road in Bramley, Leeds, and Coppy Lane, Bramley.

As many as 120 houses were affected through the day but most have been restored to the grid after emergency repairs.

However, several houses are still without power - and some have been without electricity since 2am.

Anne said: "I have had to put my mum in respite care because she still has no power to her house.

"Northern Power Grid say it is a faulty cable underground, and they are working on the road to dig it up now. But it could be hours until it is fixed.

"A couple of doors down the family have young kids, and they have had to check into a hotel for the night.

"I'm so grateful to Richmond House in Farsley for agreeing to look after my mum at short notice."
