One of the major Post Office branches in Leeds has committed to its long-term future at a retail centre in the city.
The service provider has renewed its lease at St Johns Shopping Centre where it has been open for more than a quarter of a century. St Johns Centre Manager Susan Mendoza said: “On behalf of our customers we are thrilled that the Post Office sees itself very much at home here, now and for the future.”
As well as selling stamps and handling parcels, the Post Office offers a range of services including Drop & Go, passport application checks, document certification, driving licence renewal, vehicle tax, current account banking and foreign currency.
The 4,437 square foot site first opened its doors in 1986 and has been very popular with generations of shoppers visiting the Merrion Street centre, which attracts more than 7.5 million customers a year.
Mark Proudlove of Barker Proudlove, the letting agents for St Johns, said: “What a great time of year to deliver such good news about the Post Office. The services customers can access at the Post Office makes it a valued hub of any community.”
