Leeds City Council has proposed a 1.99% rise in core council tax for all wards from April 2021, with an additional 3% rise to pay for adult social care.

The proposed rise will be voted at the full council meeting on February 26. If the plan is approved, most of the city will see Band D rise from £1,711.15 to £1,796.54. But some towns and villages in Leeds pay an extra surcharge on top of what is owed to the council, police and fire - this is called a parish 'precept'.
