Co-Founder of Extinction Rebellion Roger Hallam to hold talk at Meanwood Park

The co-founder of Extinction Rebellion is to hold a talk in Leeds this weekend.

Roger Hallam, who recently founded new anti-political party Burning Pink, will be speaking at Meanwood Park Saturday, June 12.

The event, called 'Reasons to be Cheerful Despite the Climate Crisis and Covid' , will discuss world events and the climate crisis, among other topics.

Coordinators of the event said: "We will be covering the State of the World, the Climate Crisis, Burning Pink, Council Tax Strikes, Demand for mass insulation and the need for high stakes action to be taken for COP26.

"We are offering ways to mobilise your community and take action against your local council’s ineffectiveness regarding the climate crisis, with the Council Tax Strike, which we are presenting with Money Rebellion (part of Extinction Rebellion).

"Please come along and discover levels of courage within yourself that you never knew you had".

The talk is free but donations are welcomed.

It starts at 7pm until 9pm.
