People in Leeds will be able to put their questions to a live panel of leading politicians when a popular Radio 4 programme is broadcast live from one of the city’s schools.
Any Questions? will be recorded at Farnley Academy on Friday December 13, chaired by presenter Jonathan Dimbleby.
The flagship political debate show is broadcast from a different location in the UK every week, where a live studio audience puts its questions to a panel made up of prominent national politicians and opinion formers.
Guests on this particular episode will feature Conservative economics spokesman Sajid Javid, shadow business secretary Chuka Umunna, UKIP small businesses spokesman Amjad Bashir and Shami Chakrabarti, the director of Liberty.
People in the city are invited to apply for tickets. All that is required is for you to be seated by 7.30pm for a live transmission at 8pm.
A school spokesman said: “A pie and peas supper will be available in our restaurant from 5.30pm to welcome the community to our school and to stimulate and engage debate beforehand.” Principal John Ziltener said: “Being chosen for such a prestigious event is a major success for the Academy, and we believe it represents our ambition as we strive to give our students every chance to achieve their potential both in and out of school.
“It also gives us a valuable opportunity to engage with the people of Leeds and invite them into our school to take part in what promises to be a thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable evening.”
The programme has been broadcast by the BBC since 1948, with Dimbleby having been at the helm since the late 1980’s.
