Police in east Leeds have issued a warning about an ATM scam in the area.

The Leeds Outer East team has urged residents to be aware after officers this morning recovered a ‘skimming’ device from an ATM in Crossgates.

In a post on Facebook, they have written: “The device was very basic but would have worked had it not become slightly dislodged and spotted by a customer.

“Please always check the machine you are using, if there is something suspicious about it do not use.

“This particular machine was one of two together and those responsible had made the second ATM unusable by inserting card into the card reader.”

The Beast from the East is set to bring three days of snow to Yorkshire.
