POLICE armed with a search warrant raided a Leeds city centre pub searching for drugs.

But officers left the Three Legs pub on the Headrow empty handed after searching the premises on Thursday night.

Around a dozen police officers plus police dogs were involved in the raid, launched after police secured a misuse of drugs act warrant.

Six customers who were in the bar were also searched during the operation.

Acting Ch Insp Sue Jenkinson, said: “Our officers are committed to keeping drugs out of the city centre by listening to the concerns of local people and acting on them.

“Warrants like this are a prime example of this.

“Although we did not find any evidence of illegal activity on this occasion I would like to reassure anyone connected to the city that we will continue working hard to keep drugs out of local pubs and clubs.”
