Police plea after crash in Leeds

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision between a car and motorcycle in Leeds on Friday morning.

The Eastern Area Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Team would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident on the A6110 Rin Road, Lower Wortley at the junction with Low Mills Road.

It took place at about 11.54am after a Ford C-Max car and a Honda VFR 750 FK were in collision near to the Ringways garage.

The Honda had been travelling from Farnley towards the roundabout junction of the A6110 and A58 when it was in collision with the C-Max which was using a marked cut through to carry out a U Turn.

The 47-year-old motorcycle rider was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he is being treated for injuries to his leg and lower body which are serious not thought to be life threatening.
