A spokesman for the force said: "We have received a number of complaints about speeding on the lower part of Old Pool Bank, and also contravention of the "No motor vehicles except for access" signs on the upper part of Old Pool Bank.

"In response, we have been out this morning dealing with these offences. We have dealt with 30+ motorists this morning who were suspected of contravening the signs, and have also been doing speed checks with the speed gun.

"Please don't speed, and don't use Old Pool Bank as a cut through, or you may find yourself in the possession of a hefty fine."

That's us told!
