Police officer dragged along the road after leaning into driver's window in Leeds

A police sergeant ended up being dragged along a road while trying to speak to a suspect in Leeds.

The officer, from a west Leeds patrol team, was leaning into the car to speak to the driver when the man drove away, dragging the sergeant with him.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed his injuries were minor but posted a photo of him with his arm in a sling to highlight the issue of assaults on officers.

The vehicle was pursued and the suspect was arrested.
