Police have named a woman who died in a car crash near Leeds on Friday.

Kellie Marie Robertshaw, 28, suffered fatal injuries when her black Vauxhall Astra and a white Peugeot Blipper van travelling in the opposite direction collided on the Drighlington bypass at 11pm.

Miss Robertshaw, of Heckmondwike, was confirmed dead at the scene.

The driver of the van, a 68-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Det Sgt Carole Greaves, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “Although enquiries are still in their early stages, we believe the Astra might have misjudged a bend which led to it being in collision with the Bipper.”

Anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the collision is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team via 101.
