CCTV images have been released of a man police want to speak to about a serious sexual assault near Leeds Corn Exchange earlier this month.

A 30-year-old woman was attacked in the Crown Street car park at the rear of the Corn Exchange on Saturday September 6 between 2.30am and 3.15am.

She had met the suspect in nearby Milo Bar, in Call Lane, at around 1am and left with him at about 2.30am to go to another bar. It is believed the man left the car park when passers-by disturbed him during the incident.

Detective Inspector Marc Bowes, of Leeds District CID, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who recognises the man shown in the images or who has any information that could assist the investigation.”

The suspect was described as white, aged about 25, with messy spiky hair and broad shoulders. He was said to be good looking, spoke with a Leeds accent, was wearing a shirt and jeans and smelled of Hugo Boss aftershave.

A 20-year-old man was arrested after an earlier appeal but was released without charge.

Call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 with information.
