Police hunt 'known suspect' after thieves steal collection for family of Leeds teen killed in Manchester terror attack

Police are searching for a 'known suspect' after the theft of a community collection for the family of a Leeds schoolgirl killed in the Manchester Arena bombing.

The funds, which were to be given to the grieving family of 14-year-old Sorrell Leczkowski, were snatched from the counter of Costcutter in Ireland Wood on Sunday afternoon.

CCTV footage shows two men entering the shop in Raynel Approach, before one of them snatches the collection tub at around 1.55pm.

It was believed to have contained several hundreds pounds at the time.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “A 30-year-old man was arrested last night in relation to the theft and was later released without charge.

"Enquiries are ongoing to arrest a further known suspect."
