Police cordon as ambulance called to man collapsed in Leeds street

A man has been taken to hospital after he was found collapsed in a street in Leeds.

The man was found with life-threatening head injuries in Selby Road, Halton, overnight on Saturday.

He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by ambulance.

Staff at the hospital called police at 12.31am on Sunday and officers launched an investigation into the incident.

A cordon was put in place in Selby Road while police carried out enquiries into the circumstances .

It was later established that the man's injuries were the result of an accidental fall.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said the man's condition is no longer considered life threatening following treatment in hospital
