Morley councillors are planning a campaign to fight against development on green spaces.

The Morley Borough Independent group hopes to work with the public to keep sites in Churwell, Gildersome, Drighlington and Tingley free from new buildings. Leeds City Council is due to release its list of site proposals at the end of the month, which will form part of its local development plan.

Coun Judith Elliott said: “We are gearing up for another battle with developers and we are calling on local residents to join us to defend Morley greenfield sites which are under threat from these proposals. Our campaign will look towards saving these precious greenfield sites.”
