A proud pink cocktail has been chosen to give a Leeds breast cancer charity some welcome support in October.

The Botanist bar, in Boar Lane, Leeds, will launch its new limited edition ‘Seventh Haven’ drink in order to raise both awareness and money for The Haven charity during Breast Cancer Awareness Month next month.

The chocolate orange-inspired mix by bartender Adam Phoenix (pictured) was chosen during a specially organised Bloom Gin cocktail competition last week, and will go on sale at the venue next month with £1 from each drink going to the Gateway-based breast cancer support centre.

Yorkshire firms including Tropic Pure Plant Skincare, Pastille Beauty Bar and Leeds designer Bo Carter have teamed up to help boost the charity with the bar, which was named best team at the Great British Pub Awards in London last week.

Debra Horsman, from The Haven, said: “We don’t receive any government funding and rely entirely on charitable donations and fundraising initiatives like this one to be able to provide our unique services.”
