PHOTOS: Group of travellers park up in Leeds village green

A group of travellers have set up camp on Alwoodley Village Green in Leeds.

These photos, sent in by YEP reader Melvyn Scott, show the group of caravans which are currently parked on the green space in Alwoodley, LS17.

West Yorkshire Police has confirmed that it has received reports of a group of caravans parked on Alwoodley Village Green in Leeds.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police "We are aware of this, they are being dealt with through the usual process. It is in hand and Leeds Council are aware and are leading on it."

He added that early indications suggest that the travellers are not intent on staying for an extended period.
