One of the nation's favourite TV chefs has told your YEP that he can't wait to open his new restaurant in the city next Wednesday '“ in time for the festive season '“ and we have had an exclusive look around.

The opening in Leeds is the third in the Uk for the Gino D’Acampo My restaurant brand following launches in Manchester and London’s Euston station earlier this year.

He said: “After months of planning for the opening, I can’t wait to welcome guests to My Restaurant Leeds at this wonderful time of year.”

The restaurant is on Park Row in the heart of the city’s nightlife central.

The 150-cover restaurant is over two floors and includes an open kitchen, deli bar overlooking Park Row and a cool basement Prosecco Bar, which has 40 varieties of the fizz favourite and sparkling wine.

Ginos adds to the Italian offering in that area of the city as it is opposite Jamie’s Italian, inspired by fellow TV chef, Jamie Oliver. The building used to house Piccolino’s which is managed by the same group as Gino’s and will be opening elsewhere in the city – and word on the street it that could be at Victoria Gate.
