The leaves are starting to fall from the trees and there is a distinctly crisp chill in the air.

Leeds has said a sad farewell to the summer months as Autumn finally arrives in the city in style.

And summertime is set to officially end as the clocks are turned back on October 25.

To mark the turning of the season we are sharing some of our favourite photographs taken out and about in Leeds.

From the grounds of Roundhay Park and the historic ruins of Kirkstall Abbey we are showcasing the very best seasonal snaps.

Among them is a haunting daze along the Leeds Liverpool Canal by our photographer Tony Johnson.
