Pervert 'addicted to child porn' locked up for downloading abuse images again - Leeds Crown Court

A PERVERT who downloaded indecent images of children on computers at his home has been jailed for two years.

Samuel Webley was locked up after a court heard it is the second time he has been convicted for possessing indecent child images.

Mobile phones and laptops were seized from the property.

Frances Pencheon, prosecuting, said Webley immediately told officers about other devices in his home, saying he was “addicted to looking at child pornography”.

The devices were examined and found to contain 82 illegal images involving children.

They featured children aged between two and ten years of age.

Two extreme pornographic images involving animals were also recovered.

Miss Pencheon said Webley was convicted of similar offences in 2012. He was given a community order and made the subject of a ten-year sexual offences prevention order.

Webley, of Albion Street, Wakefield, pleaded guilty to three offences of making indecent images of a child, one of breaching a sexual offences prevention order and possession of extreme pornographic images.

Mr Flemming said Webley had been receiving help from a charity to address his addiction.

The barrister urged Recorder Andrew Sutcliffe to impose a community-based punishment so the defendant could continue to receive help.

Jailing Webley, Recorder Sutcliffe said: "The images of the children are appalling and have an appalling affect upon these victims.

"This is an offence you have repeated and have ignored the previous sentence imposed."
