Ariel, also known as Ara Amy Starblaze, was best known for her appearance on the X Factor in 2008.

The former Horbury School pupil, who described herself as a holistic vocal coach, was found dead at her Woodhouse home on Tuesday, November 12, aged 38.

Her audition on the ITV show led to her being dubbed the 'angriest woman in the world'.

To begin her audition, Ariel, told the judges: "First of all let's sort this out. I am not a number, I am a human being."

She then tore her contestant number from her shirt and threw it towards head judge Simon Cowell.

Following her performance, Simon described Ariel's singing as 'atrocious' and she was escorted from the set.

A video of the audition has since been viewed more than 3 million times.

Friend Mike Jolly, project coordinator at Cloth Cat Studios, a Leeds music charity, posted on Facebook on Monday: "I'm really sad to hear that Amy Ara Burdett died earlier this month.

"I've only just found out and not sure what happened. I know she had her demons and struggled with her health.

"She was incredibly talented, had a really funny sense of humour and played some hilarious songs whenever she came to play at the Cloth Cat open mic.

"You'll be missed by many."
