Scaffolder Danny Blackwell, 35, said the idea to colour in every individual brick started off as a 'bit of fun' with his children Lydia, 13, and Dainton, 11.

However, Danny said he spent an hour each day this week to completely transform his Pontefract home in a tribute to the NHS.

Danny told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "It just started off as a bit of fun with my kids because I had seen others in the area had started to chalk their houses in tribute.

"My children helped me do the first half of the house."

Danny quickly ran out of chalk and was left unable to complete the mammoth project.

Despite this, residents of Ackworth rallied round to donate more chalk to his family to finish their entire home.

Danny added: "After using around 100 pieces of chalk I finished the house.

"I even managed to do the fence with the children aswell.

"My inspiration was the dedications and tributes to the NHS."

Danny's home has been praised by locals of Ackworth, with many taking to social media to laud his work.

One said: "What a brilliant idea, put a smile on my face!"

Another added: "I passed this on my walk earlier and thought it was great.

"A lovely tribute to the NHS."
