Unusual socially distant wedding held in Leeds revealed in photos

A ban on weddings was finally lifted on Saturday - and a Leeds couple were one of the first in the country to tie the knot under the new rules.

Lovebirds Tom Hall and Heather McLaren got hitched at St George's Church in Leeds city centre, but they had to follow a raft of new rules during their big day including limits on guests and social distancing measures.

The ceremony was held at St George's Church in Leeds - but it was a very different experience to a normal wedding

Measures included washing the rings before exchanging them, as per the new wedding rules
But that didn't stop Tom Hall and Heather McLaren from tying the knot
The couple stood at the altar getting married in the socially distant ceremony

Ceremonies are restricted to a maximum of 30 guests
The wedding was one of the first in the country to take place once restrictions lifted on Saturday
