A total of 236 UFO reports were recorded between Jan 1 and June 30.

Of these, 18 were in Yorkshire.

On January 9, a resident said they witnessed a 'dark saucer materialise' above a field in Leeds before 'suddenly disappearing'.

In February, a black 'disc-like' object was also seen 'hovering above trees' in a tilting motion.

Two rocket-shaped craft with windows were witnessed in the sky of Leeds on April 4, allegedly illuminated with a light orange coloured light.

'They made no noise and were visible for 8-10 minutes before moving off in the direction of Leeds-Bradford airport', the report stated.

The latest report of a UFO in West Yorkshire was on May 31, where a witness said they saw silver balls of light travelling at speed in different directions in Leeds.

Ash Ellis told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "It's worth noting that of the 236 total reports, at least 70 of those can be explained by the Space X Starlink satellites which lead to a big jump in reported cases in March and April."
