The population of Leeds has increased by over 3 per cent since 2013, according to the latest available figures from the Office of National Statistics (ONS). But some Leeds wards have seen the population explode over the last five years of available data, with many more people moving in. These are the nine Leeds areas where the population increased by more than the city's average from 2013 to 2018:
1. Little London & Woodhouse
This ward includes the University area and the north of the city centre. The population increased by 26.5 per cent from 2013 to 2018.
2. Hunslet & Riverside
This ward includes the south of the city centre. The population increased by 16 per cent from 2013 to 2018.
3. Gipton & Harehills
The population of Gipton and Harehills increased by 14.1 per cent from 2013 to 2018.
4. Beeston & Holbeck
The population of Beeston and Holbeck increased by 9 per cent from 2013 to 2018.
5. Burmantofts & Richmond Hill
The population of Burmantofts and Richmond Hill increased by 8.1 per cent from 2013 to 2018
6. Headingley & Hyde Park
The population of Headingley and Hyde Park increased by 7.6 per cent from 2013 to 2018
