Joanne Doherty - who runs Facebook group 'Whinmoor Past and Present - said she took photographs supplied to the YEP of the Coal Road KFC shortly after 6pm on Friday night.

She said the queue was more than 50 cars deep and went all the way back to Coal Road junction with the A6120.

Joanne said some cars were trying to cut into the front of the queue and others were forced to overtake - leaving the road 'dangerous'.

Joanne said: "The queue was for the drive thru and obviously went all the way around the kfc and out of the car park onto the main road.

"I would say it was over 50 cars deep and went all the way back to the junction where the coal road meets the traffic lights for the Ring Road A6120.

"We were sat behind a car that was infront of us indicating to go into the kfc and trying to cut towards the front of the queue when I took this picture.

"I took the picture to post it on my Facebook group ‘Whinmoor Past and Present’ to inform people to take a diversion or alternate route so local people didn’t get stuck behind the cars.

"It was only then after I noticed just how dangerous it was making the road.

"With Unilever being situated opposite the KFC many long distant vehicles go into that business every 10 mins or so.

"As I was sat taking the picture as you can see by the second picture a red lorry had to go around the queue to get to Unilever and came towards the car that was sat stationary in front of us wanting to turn.

"It is very much an accident waiting to happen as the queue went back to the traffic lights and the road is on a bend going towards the junction."

Four KFC restaurants have reopened in Leeds for delivery.
