'Foodistry' is the brainchild of Pudsey resident James Crabtree - who wants to help local businesses survive and thrive amid the Covid pandemic.

The website hosts products from each individual retailer on a website, where customers can pick and choose their favourites in their 'basket'.

Customers are then able to choose a delivery slot on a day and time that is convenient for them - with staff collecting the items in a bundle before completing the delivery.

Bentleys Butchers of Pudsey, Jayne’s fruit and veg from the market, FAB (Foodistry Artisan Bakery) in conjunction with the SB Artisan Bake House, The Pudsey Milkman, Lina’s Luscious Cakes and Crooked Brewing are all being hosted on the online platform.

Launching the website has been a huge success, James said.

He said he has been inundated with orders from across Pudsey.

Now, James has told the YEP that the business will expand into other areas of Leeds including Farsley and Horsforth.

James said: "The new business is now just two weeks into supplying Pudsey and surrounding areas, with great products from local suppliers and food producers.

"We have been thrilled with how the service has been received so far and would go as far to say we’ve been really humbled by the fantastic reaction to the service and the positive comments we have received from customers and the local community.

"We are really excited for the coming weeks and months in this ever changing retail landscape.

"We are adding a host of new suppliers to the website and a wider range of food types with expansion into The Foodistry Deli, where will will supply cheeses, cooked meats and freshly prepared lunch solutions.

“We have had lots of brilliant feedback so far.

"One thing our customers have asked is for more products to choose from so they can keep their shop local to Pudsey.

"This is something we have been working on for months and I am really excited to see what customers think of the ever expanding range”.

Whilst primary focus has been on Pudsey, The Foodistry team will now be expanding their delivery radius to Farsley, Apperley Bridge and Horsforth over the next few days, James said.
