Most Haunted to go ghost hunting at Leeds Town Hall in online event

Yvette Fielding, Karl Beattie and Stuart Torevell will be broadcasting a live stream from one of the city's most famous buildings between 9pm and 1pm on Saturday, September 5.

The paranormal reality television series aired on Living TV and Really in the past, but new material is now broadcast online.

The Town Hall, built between 1853 and 1858 to a design by the architect Cuthbert Brodrick, contains a courtroom, as well as police cells below ground.

In 1993, Leeds Crown Court opened on Westgate, ending the Town Hall's role as a courthouse.

Its police station and cells were closed at the same time.

The event is now full to capacity, but Most Haunted gave a preview of what would be in store on the night.

They said: "Investigate the old courtroom...The Crypt...The modern cells and the Victorian Cells...All located beneath the Town Hall in Leeds.

"What lurks in the darkness? With reports of a dominant male that likes to tug on your clothes and push you...to whispers heard when no one is around as you walk through The Crypt.

"Dark fleeting shadows are seen in the courtroom...are these past inmates waiting to be sentenced?

"Let's find out together."
