A little 6-year-old boy from Leeds has been praised - after making a Christmas hamper for a homeless shelter in Leeds.

Archie Brook, from Seacroft, helps the homeless all year long.

Archie's mum Sophie Johnson posted on social media to express her pride after he decided to make a hamper for St George's Crypt in Leeds.

In a post on forum Leedsplace, Sophie said: "Merry Christmas everyone thinking of you all in this horrible situation we are all in at the moment hold your loved ones close and tell them everyday you love them because tomorrow is never guaranteed.

"Today my 6 year old son made a Christmas hamper for the homeless people.

"[He] makes me so proud I had tears in my eyes every little helps seeing them smile and say thank you even gave them money god bless them."

Archie and his family took the hamper to the crypt on Christmas Eve.

Sophie told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "He is kind hearted, always on about homeless people and homeless animals asking what we can do to help them.

"Every time we go shopping their is a homeless man outside Iceland in Leeds and he always gives the man a pound coin and says have a good day and keep safe.

"The reaction at the crypt was amazing, smiles all round some tears in his mummy's eyes and grandparents eyes but happy all round.

"In the hamper, we provided food including Christmas crackers, sweets, stew, pies, tinned beans and tinned meats."

Archie's actions were praised across social media.
