Igor Polonski, 47, was visiting the shopping centre on January 10th when he parked up outside the rear entrance.
He said he reversed to around '15-20cm' from the back of the painted white lines when he heard something 'big and heavy' hit his car.

He claims his car was scratched due to the 'incorrect marking' of the lines.
Igor said he now wants to warn other visitors to the centre of the possibility of damage to their cars if parking in the spaces.
Igor, a West Yorkshire Police contractor cleaner, said: "On January 10, I arrived at Leeds White Rose shopping centre by car and started parking on the designated white parking lines.

"I stopped my car and went out to see what happened.
"It turned out that the parking lines were marked incorrectly and a large iron barrier, which cannot be seen, was inside the parking lines.
"As a result, due to incorrect marking of the parking lines, my car was damaged."
Igor said he asked to talk to the owner of the shopping centre following the incident.

"He said to ask my insurance company.
"Due to irresponsibility and negligence of the owners of the shopping centre, others cars may get damaged while trying to park at this shopping centre."
Igor supplied photographs to the Yorkshire Evening Post which he claimed proved the green barrier protruded across the painted space.
He said he has been left very angry due to the incident.
A spokesperson from White Rose Shopping Centre said this was the first customer complaint regarding the lamp post protectors since 1997 when they were installed.

"The bars are used to protect lamp posts right across our site and have been in place since 1997.
"Since then, we do not have a record of any other customer complaint about the lamp post protectors or the placement of white lines.”
