How viral touching note left on mum's car in Leeds Matalan left her "fighting back happy tears"
A touching note left on the car door in a Leeds Matalan car park has gone viral on social media.
Genevieve Spark returned to her car on Tuesday (June 15) to discover the note having had a tough morning.
In a viral post, Genevieve described how her children had spent the journey to the Halton Matalan store crying in the car and she was "distressed".
When she spotted the note, Genevieve said she feared the worst.
However, after opening the letter, the contents made her day.
The note read: "You have beautiful children!
"Thanks for making me smile today from my car.
"From one mum to another you are doing a fantastic job!
Genevieve has now launched a social media campaign to trace Sarah following her incredible act of kindness.
She said: "It honestly made my day.
"You just never know how someone might be feeling and this definitely made me feel better at that moment in time.
"I'm glad we made you smile too.
"I hope this message gets back to Sarah."
The post has been shared more than 30,000 times on Facebook in less than 24 hours and quickly went viral.
Many praised the kind act of Sarah and loved the contents of the note.
Genevieve said she "instantly started tearing up" when she read it.
She said: "This was after dropping my six-year-old daughter off at school and my nine week old baby boy cried all the way in the car.
"I was distressed hearing his bad cry, he has a possible allergy or intolerance.
"My baby boy was also most likely feeling distressed cos he just wanted me, even though I was right there and just couldn’t get to him whilst driving and my nearly three-year-old son just sat patiently in his seat staring out the window."
"From one stranger to another and one mother to another, thank you so much."
