Friends raise over £16,000 for charity after Leeds school girl’s tragic death
Naina Krishna was just 16-years-old when she suddenly died in October this year.
She had a close connection with children in Mombasa and had “fallen in love” with them when she had visited Kenya, with the Krishna family having regularly sponsored the children there and hosted them when they came to England.

Naina’s mum, Cindy Krishna said: “Naina had been to Mombasa to go and teach the kids netball through a trip we organised independently and when she spent a few weeks out there she fell in love with the children.
“Naina was part of a social enterprise company at school and after her tragic death, her friends turned their company into an independent business of making and selling friendship bracelets.
“They named the business after her, Ninky-Beedz, and have so far raised around £16,700 for the family-led charity Educate the Kids.
“They have done absolutely amazingly.”

Hide AdCindy hopes to be able to take some of Naina’s friends to Mombasa at some point to be able to work with the children directly.
Some of her friends have also made a song called See You Tomorrow in Naina’s memory.
Cindy said: “A couple of Naina’s friends made the song, they wrote it, sang it and produced it themselves.
“The song is amazing and so many people have said how much they love it.
