The tournament, set to take place on Friday March 27 at 1-3pm, aims to help awareness in combating poverty in Leeds by supplying children with beds.

Zarach - the charity behind the tournament - said all 'money raised will go towards providing children something to eat and a good night’s sleep in the hope of giving everyone an equal opportunity to learn and succeed at school'.

The charity are working in partnership with the Yorkshire Cricket College to run the event with the support of British Dodgeball.

Over 150,000 people live in poverty within Leeds.

Elliott Leeming, from Primary Sports UK who are hosting the event, said: "I find it unbelievable that children in Leeds are currently going to sleep on the floor.

"What is more shocking is that if a child doesn’t have a bed then they don’t have hot water, food and all the other amenities we take for granted.

"Zarach urgently need funds to help make a difference to children living in poverty within Leeds.

"After seeing a recent campaign, we felt as though we had to help. £100 can buy a bed for one child so our aim for 2020 is to raise £10,000 to make a difference to 1000 children in

Leeds."

The cost per team at the tournament will be £50.

100% of the profits raised go to help children across Leeds.
